Road tripper P.J. Pacifico comes home for his big festival break

Young singer-songwriter P.J. Pacifico put Connecticut in his rear view mirror to seek life experiences on the road. Now he is getting a big break with a main stage booking at Gathering of the Vibes, a festival down the road from his old home town. Funny how things break.

Pacifico is about to release his second album, "Always and Forever" on Viper records. He sounds a lot like a young James Taylor, both in vocal quality and lyrical theme. The first single from the album, "Jackbone," is available for download here.

Pacifico claimed the spot on the Vibes lineup reserved for an independent artist submitted through Sonicbids.com, the online submission and publicity service. He came out on top of the thousands of submissions, says festival director Ken Hays, who said it was Pacifico's "incredibly inspiring and soulful voice" that got him noticed.

While Pacifico holds down the rookie spot in the Vibes lineup, the festival offers plenty of big-name talent, starting with Crosby, Stills & Nash, who will anchor a Woodstock anniversary theme that also includes Bog Weir's Ratdog, Levon Helm Band, and emcee Wavy Gravy. Other top acts include bluesman Buddy Guy, funk legend George Clinton, jam favorites moe., indie rock bands State Radio and Guster, and lots more.
